Certificate Course on Integrated Child Development

Integrated Child Development Course

Integrated Child Development Course

Integrated child development is one of the key areas of Ministry of Women and Child Development. It focuses on holistic development of children by providing adequate care and services for physical, social, emotional, andpsychological development of child, beginning from conception till 6 years of age. The component of care and counselling is very vast and is provided through an integrated package with an aim to support families to cater to the developmental needs of their children and help them survive, grow and develop their full potential. However, inadequate knowledge of components like care among health service providers, parents, families etc. can hamper the optimal growth of the child. Keeping this in mind, a Basic Course on Integrated Child Development has been planned with an aim to provide comprehensive training in maternal care, new born care, growth monitoring & promotion, infant and young child feeding, community based management of underweight children, personal hygiene and sanitation, community mobilization and interpersonal communication for strengthening counselling on behaviour change.

Integrated Child Development course contains 10 components on various Health and Nutrition related topics so that stakeholders can get themselves updated with the latest knowledge without compromising their work. This course is unique in itself as it covers diverse topics that promotes critical understanding of child development and helps to identify undernourished children and teaches how community based care of children, pregnant & lactating mother can alter the numbers of underweight children in our country. This course focuses on recent developments and best practices that can be easily replicated in the community and at the ground level by our field level functionaries. The course is eligible for ICDS Functionaries and MLTC/AWTCs Trainers, Home Science Professionals, Post Graduates in Nutrition and Health, Social Health Activists, Social Workers and Paramedics.
